+# Political Institutions
+The central government of the Commonwealth has three primary institutions. These are the Office of the Prime, the Chamber of Counsel, and the Offices of State.
+
+## Office of the Prime
+The Office of the Prime is the chief political institution of the Commonwealth. It is headed by the Prime, who is the official successor of the role once held by absolute monarchs. The Office is properly speaking one of the many Offices of State, but it is functionally its own institution.
+
+The Prime's politcal authority is unchecked by any legal limitations, however the practical authority excercised the the Office of the Prime is severely checked by the influence of the Chamber of Counsel as well as the other Offices of State.
+
+## Chamber of Counsel
+The Chamber of Counsel is comprised of delegations selected and sent by each Ferdish province and the Stanish Territory. These delegations are selected by each region's most powerful nobles and are generally comprised of powerfull nobles and other influential figures.
+
+While the Chamber has little legal authority, it represents a concentration of most of the Commonwealth's powerful players. Hence, the Notices of Counsel issued by the Chamber carry significant practical weight and often heavily inflence key decisions.
+
+Of note is the element of legal authority that the Chamber exercises over Offices of State. With the exception of the Office of the Prime, the Chamber retains a Right of Appointment over the various Offices, ensuring that each Office's charter allows for the appointment of a given number of permenant positions to the Office by the Chamber of their own candidtates.

+## Offices of State
+
+This is essentially the bureaucratic wing of the central gonverment. Partially controlled by the Office of the Prime and partially controlled by the Chamber of Counsel, these are the bodies that govern the day-to-day affairs of the Commonwealth.
+
+Offices can be createe by either the Prime or the Chamber of Counsel. Some Offices are considered permenant, and others are temporarily instated for a particular practical or political purpose.
